4 Simple Ways to Boost Oxygen Lab Skincare Results

4 Simple Ways to Boost Oxygen Lab Skin Care Results

Date

The Oxygen Lab ECHO₂ treatment, in tandem with our at-home care regimen, is uniquely designed to replenish the skin to healthy oxygen levels.

Our results are supported by science and clinically proven through skin-mapping technology. Patients and providers are amazed by the overall improvement in their skin health. Once the ECHO2 treatment is complete, and patients have their Oxygen Lab take-home care products, there are 4 simple ways to help further boost their skin treatment results daily.

4 Ways to Use Oxygen For Improved Skincare Results

1. Drink plenty of water

Physicians typically recommend 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of water a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of water a day for women. Your body needs it, and your skin craves it. Sugary beverages, sports drinks, alcohol, and caffeinated drinks can be incredibly dehydrating.

And, dehydration can wreak havoc on the skin.

During the ECHO2 treatment, a multi-vitamin mask is massaged into the skin. Our unique osmotic hydration process uses enzymes and amino acids to draw moisture into the skin and nourish the cells beneath the epidermis. You can further enhance these results by simply making sure you’re drinking enough water every day.

2. Sun Protection

We know that a nice summer glow is tempting, but in truth, there is no such thing as a safe tan. That “summer glow” is really an increase in skin pigment, called melanin, which is a sign of skin damage. Once the skin is exposed to UV radiation, it increases the production of melanin in an attempt to protect the skin from further damage.

Evidence suggests that tanning greatly increases your risk of developing skin cancer. And, contrary to popular belief, getting a tan will not protect your skin from sunburn or other skin damage.

So you can enhance your Oxygen Lab results simply by protecting your skin from the sun’s rays. Try wearing UV-resistant clothing, hats, sunglasses, and use non-comedogenic sunscreen for your face with at least 30 SPF.

3. Diet

The imperfections you see on your skin are often a sign of a poor or unbalanced diet. Some foods are quite simply unkind to the body and the skin. You can boost your skin health by considering removing or minimizing your intake of the following types of foods:

  • Refined sugar: This proinflammatory has been shown to worsen many common skin conditions like acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis, and has also been associated with higher rates of skin cancer and signs of aging skin.
  • Dairy / meat products containing hormones & antibiotics: Dairy often contains hormones and antibiotics which can irritate skin conditions like acne and rosacea. You can choose hormone- and antibiotic-free dairy products to help protect your skin. Antibiotics in foods have also been associated with reducing gut bacteria, which is anti-inflammatory and reduces oxidative stress—all things critical to skin health and anti-aging.
  • Non-organic fruits & vegetables: Foods containing high levels of pesticides have been associated with skin cancer and advanced signs of aging. Apples, berries, grapes, celery, spinach, peaches, and nectarines are widely referred to as “the dirty dozen,” because they are often laden with pesticides. There’s no need to cut these healthy fruits and other vegetables from your diet. Go for organic produce instead.

4. Proper Exfoliation

The recent popularity of cell-scrubbing cleansers, toners, grains, and serums means that many patients are exfoliating a bit too much at home. Over-exfoliation can cause skin redness, irritation, and inflammation. Remember, the skin should be exfoliated only one to two times per week to encourage skin cell turnover without causing skin damage.

If your skin is particularly sensitive, exfoliation might not be right for your personalized skincare regimen. Oxygen Lab Damage Control encourages healthy cell turnover (like exfoliation) but works gently for delicate and sensitive skin. This uniquely designed cream adds moisture and hydrating nutrients in addition to oxygen. It is an ideal soothing cream for post-procedure healing as well.
